All Students from years Kindergarten to Year 6 start school on Thursday 6th February.
On your child’s first day of school, your child will:
- Receive a free school hat, with their name labelled inside
- Wear full school uniform (no sports shirt)
- Bring a packed lunch, some snacks and a water bottle.
- Have their name clearly marked on all belongings
Important reminder! We are an Allergy Aware School. King Street Public School works with families in many ways to lower the risk of a child with allergies having an allergic reaction. All staff are trained in allergic reaction management. We ask that families do not send nuts or products containing nuts to school.
On the first day of school, we are asking you to meet us in the Cola, to allow children and parents time to meet their class teacher. Each class has a different arrival time for THURSDAY 6/1/25 only. Once the students move on with their teacher, we invite parents to come to the hall for light refreshments.
As of Monday 17th February, students return to normal school hours – 9.10am to 3.10pm.
Kinder Class A: arrival time of 10am
Kinder Class B: arrival time of 10:20am
Kinder Class C: arrival time of 10:40am
WEEKS 1 and 2:
In the mornings, from 8:40am, parents are welcome to walk their child into the Quad area to help them drop off their bag. Your child will put their school bag in their class line. You will see the class names labelled on the cement.
A staff member will support your child to say goodbye and connect with a friend or their Buddy.
- Your child will be reunited with their Buddy, to support them in the playground in the first few weeks, as needed.
- Parents are asked to pick their children up in the first week, rather than have them catching school buses or walking home. Please let your child’s teacher know if you will be collecting from the King Street Gate or the Sussex Street Gate. Please contact the school if there are changes to your child’s pick-up arrangements.
- Every child will wear a name badge during the first few weeks of school, with their class labelled on it, for other staff and students to get to know all the new Kindergarten students as well.
